SIMILARITY

Howdy!

I'm enjoying my holidays at home with Gabby without I realize that I'll be working, soon. Oh, how time flies.....

That look. Most people say that we look alike. Hmmm...she looks more like Papa now as what I can see.

We're actually look like an Avanza and a Viva.... don't you think these two cars look like mommy and baby?

MERDEKA @ COKI STYLE

Ohhh.. best nya, Miss Coki is at home, just came back from the market buying meat and veggies. Sounds like so the very Ibu Mithali kan? After that had breakfast together with Papa and Gabby. Just kolok mee deng...hahahaha; :p I miss office already.

Yes, I'm on leave for today and tomorrow, plus weekend and our Merdeka Day next Monday. 5 days at home, Merdeka for me from H1N1 and workloads. I'm still contactable via YM and should you need me, just buzz me when you see me online. I monitor the works from home.

Well readers, it's time for lunch. Hot bone soup is awaiting to be slurped. Before leaving, just an image of my dinner last night with Zul @ The Bing.

Oh Mork.... remember that 'salsa' I thought before? Very Malaysian!

THE MORE AND THE LESS....

Today is the 4th day of Ramadhan.

The office becomes more quiet,..... less gossiping, :p

The toilet becomes more clean, less visitors .... because of fasting, less drinking and eating, - hmm...untung kakak cleaner, ringan beban di bulan yang mulia ini, hahaha!

The internet connection is slower in the afternoon, .... less people going out for lunch, - Chisss! Patutlah....

The road becomes more jammed, people chasing time to break their fast and rushing to buy food!! - True.

Relax.....

Oh my, oh my..... cobaan.... ish ish ish... +_+

1ST DAY OF RAMADHAN - A SNIPPET OF RAMADHAN BAZAAR

"Marilah bergembira, bersama menikmati bulan puasa.... mintak Mak satay secucuk, saya mau makan kerna perut selalu kosong..."

Hahahahahahh!!! Happy happy Fasting to all the Muslims globally. I woke up quite early eh, on Saturday. Semangaaatttttt!!!!!

Initally, we went to Stutong Market's Pasar Ramadhan and just to find out that the place itself was damn packed with hungry Kuchingites. Appuuuuu!!!! Memang semangat until the road was packed with cars. The bazaar caused a massive traffic jam.

See??? We were so impatient to wait and drove over, then we made u-turn after Homei. Thus, we almost jumped out from the car when we were then, stopped by a police man. *Huhu..* He let us go after giving his best quote, "Lenkali mun maok u-turn jangan masa polis molah road block.." :P Thanks abang Polis. You're so handsome lah today...hahahaa... Ya ampunnnn!!! Hahaha....

OK. There was no way we can go to Stutong's Ramadhan Bazaar so we detoured to Padungan, to the Kpg. Lumba Kuda's Pasar Ramadhan. Never give up in whatever you do especially when dealing with food, *LOL*. When we arrived there, the place wasn't full like last year but it's a good sign to park our car just next to the canopy. Yippie!

So apalagi? Satay hunting! Satay is a must food listed during this fasting month, anak suka ibu setuju kann??? hahaha...

This face. Patiently waiting for her satay, we ordered 50 sticks! Yeehaawww! 30 chicken + 20 beef = 50 sticks. Cukupkah?

I managed to snap some pictures while waiting for my satay. Well, we bought chicken murtabak, kuih celorot, karipap just to name a few. Oh yes, no dinner was prepared that evening as what I've told before, I will drive myself lazy during this fasting month.

Readers, what is your favourite dish during this month of Ramadhan?

TOMORROW IS PUASA! & HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. BOSS!

The best month of the year. The month when I would roll down my sleeve and pretend myself that I am too lazy too cook. Yes. Tomorrow is the 1st day of Ramadhan. Oh, Whadda Isteri Mithali sungguh punya statement kan? Talking about bulan Puasa, my boss birthday falls on 23rd of August. Lah sudah! Next week is Puasa so I don't think we can make celebration for him.

So, we had our emergency meeting on Fail Meja and MS ISO 2008 so Dr. Johnny and I've been thinking of having it after the meeting. I gave him our office collection and he bought a cheesecake, some puddings and packet drinks. It's simple and sweet, I know he was gonna like it. FYI, my boss ni nama je Raja, bukan Raja Kari atau Rajalinggam tapi level of humbleness is so the very high one.

Some of my favourite pictures. The boring and tiring faces of Sisters Sisters after lunch, my cute boss cutting his cake and my colleague merangkap geng keras terbaru posing with her packet drink, apakah ya ampun??? Hahahaha.....

Happy birthday boss, yang keberapa just let me know kan? Malulah nak letak sini ceh ceh ceh.. Wishing you the best health, good wealth and always prosperous with jokes to make our days in the office. I know my boss is very sick of handling H1N1 and everyone knows he is the Super Hero tangled in between jobs and his responsibilities for the health of rakyat jelata. We love you boss! *Tabik*.

p/s: esok puasa yay!!! Pasar Ramadhan, here I come!

M.P.O.R STORY (MINTAK PUJI ORANG RAMAI)

When I was a teenager, I used to call a butt kisser - M.P.O.R which stands for Mintak Puji Orang Ramai (Eleh, keja bz sikit dah mok bisin, aku tuguk2 kedak patong kenak anok hari2 sik juak sampei kedak ko ya pompuan!). This species can be found in any office and you will come across this kind of mutant almost everywhere, I bet in any college and school there would be some available.

They like to suck up Boss by acting like they are super busy, as if other people are free and sitting at the workstation doing nothing. They are normal when the boss is away but will act like a secondary school principal if boss is around so boss would know that this very special person works very fast and furious. Don't forget that they also equipped with super turbo engine, attached at their feet.

Initially I thought that I was the only person victimized by this creature but lately, I found more and more of her victims in my office. Cool, what a progress! My recent encounters, I just keep to myself and shut up. Only the closest persons to me and her victims would know about this.

To see her funny expression when boss is around had made me happy and chuckles already. Where on earth you can find this kinda person who's doing her super busy job emotionally? These are some of her comments on us that always stick in our minds.

1. "Aduh.... I wanna cry doing this job and have to run like a cartoon!!"
PLEASE DONK, HAVEN'T YOU HEARD THE WORDS LIKE 'OFFICE AND TIME MANAGEMENT??

2. Give it to me!!!! *Grab the paper from your hand and added, "I can do it faster than you!!!"
HOY! YOU SAID IT'S FOR TOMORROW AND LOOK AT THE TIME . IT WAS ALREADY 5:15 P.M. AND EVERYONE HAS GONE HOME ALREADY LAH.

3. "Where's the fax? Already arrived?? *Grabbing out the paper like a typhoon. I haven't answered Yes or No and wondering why on earth she's doing that?
DUH! IZZIT CRAZY OR NOT? I FEEL LIKE SINGING.. "AKU BOSAN DENGAN MUKAMU, AKU RASA BUANG MASA, KAU SELALU MENGEJI KERJAKUUUUU..."

OK. ENOUGH OF CURSING. GOD, FORGIVE ME. I'LL BE TAKING LEAVE NEXT WEEK IN CONJUNCTION WITH SCHOOL HOLIDAY, FOR A FEW DAYS PERHAPS. I NEED TO DISJOINT THIS HEAD WITH H1N1, DOCUMENTS AND PHONE CALLS. I NEED A BREAKAWAY.

Did I tell you that I'm listening to Akim's song BENGANG* more and more everyday? Ahh.. I just love him, eh? his song lah... hahahaa.....

p/s: Mork, can ask Syrile to sing this song? Hehehehe.......

HOW DID I SURVIVE MY WEEKEND!

I lost my voice becos of sore throat. Damn.

OH, read some tips from Big Momma's blog. She has written down some useful tips to handle the H1N1, the most ubiquitously spoken topic nowadays. Aha, I can't miss to visit my parents on Sunday's afternoon since the railing works will be done on that day too. How then if I still unable to make it?

1. Sleeping Beauty.
Yes. There's nothing better than longer sleeping hours? I actually woke up very early on Saturday morning to prepare breakfast. Why? Because my tummy was grumbling and I was kinda starving in the dawn. I continued to sleep after that.

2. Vitamin C supplement
Hubby can't find papayas and he forgot to buy me 100 Plus. Thanks to Flavettes Vit. C tablets that he bought for me a day before. Just a tablet a day will low down the heat.

3. Power of H2O
Gulp plenty of water would make you feel bloat but who cares when it is actually helping you in many ways? Yes, water is GOOD for you and your skin too.

4. Bathing
To reduce your body heat, try to take bath frequently like..... 4 times a day? Eh, I'm not crazy but I always do this!

5. Coughing Syrup by your side
This is the most crucial sidekick should you really have no idea how to calm down the urge to uhuk uhuk! The best that I can recommend is the old school - Woods Peppermint Cure! Don't sip directly from the spoon but dilute it with 2 tablespoon of lukewarm water and sip slowly. I guarantee the next day you will barf with lot of mucus, hehehehe....... it's very refreshing too!

So how did you go thru your sickness? Care to share with the readers out there?

BEAUTIFUL SICK SATURDAY

Good morning Saturday!

Today's morning was damn beautiful..... I looked outside the window, to the left, the air was cleaner,

I looked at right, the sky was brighter,

I looked in front, the workers were not there yet to renovate my neighbour's car porch...

Very beautiful day to go outing and shopping. How to start today? Maybe with a scrumptuous breakfast at C121, aaahhh. I miss the Fried Kueh Tiaw, Penang one. After that I wanted to go to Watson's BDC and later in the evening to the Kuching Fest since tomorrow is the last day.

Unfortunately....

...........................

...............

........

.....

...

..

I am sick - coughing with flu and sore throat! Shittt!!!!

That's a complete punishment for me when the day was so gorgeously intriguing. Why? Why?? Why?? *Uhuk uhuk uhuk!

"Huwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...mommy, I wanna go shopping..."

p/s: That face at the window is actually 'freshly from the oven', from the bed to the window, hahahaha.. so smelly!

STRESSFUL RANDOM PICS

Justify Full
When my tummy stress, it will urge me to search for a rare species of food like Mohamad Lim Abdullah belakang Parkson Grand Famous Kolok Mee .... Whadda name he has, this stall is located at Taman Sri Sarawak Mall, not a mall but a parking area.. just behind our Riverside Majestic Hotel. This is a halal version of Kolok Mee, the Char Sio inside the bowl is actually the vegetarian type. It's very rich, enriched by the thick sauce. The sauce according to my tongue tastes like Pak Lo sauce. Yummy.....

My PC UPS . Helping my PC to stay 'ON' during the power failure (blackout) so my PC won't get stressed because I have time to save all my documents before safely switching off my CPU. Sounds like easy and so reliable.

I hate today very much. I know H1N1 is driving everyone crazy in the office (as you know that I'm working with health department). My eyes, oh my eyes are so tired that lead my brain into disfunctionality and I feel damn sleepy too! Fatigue? No. It's just my brain gone jammed. First, I have to cancel two appointments since boss is taking an emergency sick leave and quarantined himself at home. All important correspondence that need his signature had to be sent to his house thanks to our driver. Fine. Then I called hotel to cancel his booking, called the travel agent to cancel his seat's booking too. After that had to call up Miri Hospital to inform them the replacement for him and made bookings again..... it's like a never ending job to me today. By 3:00 p.m. I felt that I needed to get recharged but I don't have time to make myself a cup of coffee so at some points, I fell asleep in front of PC! Yes, very funny and idiot looking at the same time.

So avoid the deadly 'sleepy' virus, cover your eyes with mask. Haha!

MISS COKI MEET PUTERI, LYANA AND CHRIS - MOMMAS BLOGGER'S MEET @ GRAND MARGHERITAS

Yay!!

I met the ladies blogger at Grand Margherita for a hi-tea session last Saturday. I was the first person to arrive then followed by Miss Lyana from France. The hi-tea was hosted by Miss Puteri from U.S. Sounds very international but it is the truth fact. Oh yes, did I mention that they are my relatives from my Saratok's background? Lyana is actually my 2nd cousin, the same blood running in our veins kan Lyana? *wink.

We promised each other to bring along our netbooks and exceptional for Chris since that she drove down from Meradong to town just to meet us. So sweet! *hugs*. Eh, she was late too since she's coming with two friends, Kathy and Sumang and they really had fun shopping at The Spring before meeting us.

This blog is ain't a blog without foodie pics. Sempat skodeng mangkuk 'Mihun Sup' @ Bee Hoon Soup, Puteri's favourite. She was patiently waiting for the broth the be heated. Oh, she was sweating a bucket after slurping the whole bowl. Sedap gilakah Puteri?
Justify Full

Well, Puteri started hers with something hot but Lyana and I had our own agenda. Since the hot weather was killing us, we started with self-made Ice Kacang. Damn! Refreshing, soothing, ..... what could we say more..

My second platter. Beef and Chicken satays with ketupat (rice cake). Oh, there is it you can see my chicken burger (so cute!) and not forgetting, Potato Samosas. Plus the chilli sauce. Yum Yum.

My third platter - Nasi Goreng Nenas (Pineapple Fried Rice) and Fried Chicken.

My dessert, a second one perhaps. I had this sourish ice-cream and topped with loads of walnuts and almonds. Don't forget the chocolate rice and carved chocolate sprinkles. Owhh.. I'm in 7th heaven!

The host. Meet the Campbells. Lil Denice, lil Duncan, Douglas and Puteri Doris. Currently residing in Galt, California. I'm glad that finally, I managed to meet them, the whole family!

The Gossip Girls! Miss Coki, Lyana, Puteri and Chris.

Our faces. Looks like a gathering of Serakup Indu Iban Sarawak hahahaha... Oh yes, we teased Debbie and Charlene thru Facebook that day too. Deb and Charl, we can meet up next time OK? Just give me a tinkle and we can have another hu ha's session like this in future.

To Lyana, Puteri and Chris, 3 hours were not enough for us but yet, it was totally awesome to have met you guys in person. ( I met Lyana twice already!)

Adios Puteri,
Au Voir Lyana,
Bye bye Chris!

Till we meet again next time,

IT'S RAINING MEN, ALLELUIA!

Now, life has gone back at normal level (fingers crossed). Warm greetings. Sio Bee and Char Sio Pau lovers. Movie downloads. KFC chasers. Weekend visits. God, I miss the smell of 2004... where lavender lingers everywhere... Isn't our world such a graceful place to live in?

HAZY KUCHING

These photos were taken yesterday morning on the way sending Miss Gabby to her school. The time was around 6:45 a.m.

This was taken at Jalan Upland's traffic light. Dirty air!

This one taken along Jalan Tabuan.

With this kind of weather, I'm not going to send Gabby to school next week. They have just completed their exam papers this week so I'd rather to see her staying at home and doing revisions.

... Damn. I don't know what to say more. H1N1, Tamiflu, Chikugunya, Haze - killing our lifestyle. Ha,ha,ha!
