YOU KNOW WHAT? LIFE WOULDN'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU

Console my heart to move on.  Friday night now is so different without Daddy.  I guess everyone is OK now eventhough that we have to bear the agony of missing him sometimes.  Yes, there will be a time when these tears can't be hold anymore.

I managed to capture Lancelot and Ashlynn latest pictures.  Daddy would be smiling to see these, his beloved grandchildren.

With her biggest hope, expecting to watch Upin and Ipin but sorry little dear, The Chronicles of Narnia conquered the audience tonight.  Next November, Ashlynn will be two years old.  I still remember Daddy used to look after Ashlynn when my Mom and Sis busy cooking in the kitchen.  Daddy always said that Ashlynn looks like me.

Don't follow this action at home unless you are born with horsey teeth like Lancelot.  Very brilliant boy though he's quite playful and handful to handle.  Next January, he'll be ten.  I still remember when Daddy was buried, the following night Lancelot refused to sleep inside his bedroom.  He slept on the floor, next to Daddy's picture that we placed in between two candles.  "I want to sleep with Aki (grandpa)."  He begged his Mom to stay in the livinig room.  How brave he was, sleeping alone in the living room, accompanied by his grandpa's picture.  We were so touched by his action.  Lancelot and Daddy were very closed, sometimes he would climb on his grandpa's bed and slept with him.  Oh, one more thing, Daddy always bought Cloud 9 bars for him too.  I mean everyday.  It really hurts to accept the fact that grandpa won't be able to buy Cloud 9 for him anymore.

A year ago, no matter whether we have taken our dinner or not, we must accompany Dad at the dining table.  Joining the dinner is the most appropriate word.  Now, if we don't feel like cooking at home then we will ask Mom to include us in the dinner.  She would cook extra dish and rice.  But last night, I didn't want to bother Mom.  On the way home, we  had our supper at Tabuan Jaya.

I miss this Kolok Mee.  When I look around, I noticed that this Kolok Mee stall is the only stall that has been survived for more than ten years.  Still remember when we were still dating, we used to come here and eat.  I guessed this Kolok Mee also the first Gabby ever tasted in her life.

Well, as what I believe, life has to go on.  I can see Mom has moved on, so do my sister and brothers.  Me?  Yes, I guess I am cool now except that I can't and I don't want to erase my sweetest memories with Daddy.
What I want to see, within next 20 years, would I be able to recall back the way Daddy walked, talked and laughed?  Will I forget about how did his voice sound like in the future?  I don't want to forget, I will treasure them inside my heart.

Daddy, we miss you.

ANOTHER HIDDEN JEWEL FOUND - YONG KWANG COFFEE SHOP

I am an avid fan of Siew Mai or Sio Bee, whatever you wanna call it. SIL took me for tea break at Kenyalang Park. She told me that this place is gonna be my favourite soon, because of the location and the people. The people? Yes, I actually love to go to a secluded place, where nobody knows or even looks at you as if you are a Big Size Alien until their jaws dropped to the floor. This place is cool!!

For Siew Mai or Bak Pau lovers, this is my recommended place for you. This cafe is known as Yong Kwang or 'Yong Kwang Kedai Kopi'. Love the signboard, it says funnily. *chuckle* Reminder: The paus here are all home made. Freshly made at home. :D

We are sitting outside the cafe and this special spot was correctly selected because I wanted to capture the signboard. Hmmm... seems that my BB Curve didn't cooperate. I still prefer my old phone because it captures images very clearly and doesn't need too much editing works.

The Siew Mai. 50 cents each. I love these totties because they are actually full of meat. Unlike other Siew Mai that wrapped in thick skin.

Kolok Mee. It must be tried. Old cafe/kopitiam serves superb Kolok Mee. Yes, the noodles, the taste..... Approved! It surely has the distinctive old school taste.

Here comes the 'Kiaw' (wanton) soup. I love them. Do you notice that sometimes the Kiaw will be very soggy when they stay too long in the hot broth. I tell you this one, the Kiaws are slightly bigger but they don't go soggy. The broth is purely made of stock that you can tell once you slurped the soup. OMG. Drooling when typing this review.

Want to go and have a try? Find Wilson's Bakery at Kenyalang Park within the residential area. This cafe is located after Wilson, in the middle of old Kenyalang Park commercial centre.

I WANNA QUIT BLOGGING IN ENGLISH, THIS IS MY 3RD TIME ASKING.

Lately, I don't have time to update my blog, so my what I did, I typed in advance and rescheduled it.  With my works and I have so many upcoming personal things to do, these really distract my mind and mood. I admit it lately, I'm quite moody too.  I need to refresh and rejuvenate my mind.

My ideas also drained out, I'm running out of interesting topics so I created one silly blog, sorry can't share it with you.  This blog is for experimenting my ideas.  I love it.  Unfortunately, it is written in Bahasa Melayu.  Oh yes, I find it is easily to express my feelings using Bahasa Melayu.  OK.  I'm more expressive, eureka!

The initial idea of creating www.cokelatrawkz.blogspot.com came from my desire to polish my English since I am now working with a govt sector and we rarely write in English.  Luckily, my working environment requires me to speak in English.  I'm so thankful.  90% of my readers are Malaysians and most of them blogging in Malay too.  I just want to be honest, that's all.

Therefore, I have created a 'twin' blog to this.  I translated my English entry into Malay and I found my entry is more interesting.  I'm glad.

I know many of you won't be happy with this but please for my happiness, I want to change and blog in Malay language.

Please be my visitors and support my intention.  This is my new blog.  Happy visiting!

With my biggest Love,

RIDICULOUS & CRAZY NATURAL REMEDIES FOR PIMPLES

We share the same first name and I really pity her when reading her story in news few days ago. Some people out there might pinpoint at her for wasting her money just to look a bit prettier than her normal look, she just wanted to look good but the expensive cosmetics that she bought turned her down and made her life miserable.

Speaking of such, I, myself wasn't born into this world with a good, smooth as baby's bottom skin.  When I entered my puberty, my face was full of fine pimples or 'jerawat pasir' as what people say.  I still remember, in our class, we, the girls always came up with ridiculous home made remedies for pimples.  Let me share with you some natural 'remedies' that we have tried.  Warning:  18SG - some of materials are not appropriate for underage readers.  KAH KAH KAH.

a.  Colgate:  Apply Colgate as a facial mask.  Sleep with it.  When I woke up the next day, I looked like a blushing Santa Claus with big reddish blush on both of my apple cheeks.  Failed.

b.  Garlic:  Cut one big garlic into two.  Make sure that you apply the pungent part of the garlic to your pimpled area.  I felt a slight burning sensation  it's burning!! and itchy at the same time few minutes after applying it.  Can't stand the smell, I ran to the bathroom and washed my face quickly, phewww.  Failed again.  Vampires would laugh at me if they saw what I was doing to myself.

"Hmmmm...." *faint*

c.  Cotton and egg white - this is quite costly and make sure that you won't fall asleep after applying them on your face.  I have experienced once.  When I tried to take it off, it was effin painful!  Felt like my face skin was gonna fall off!  Failed.

d.  Panties, knickers, undies - whatever you call it. The rule is simple.  Simply wipe your face with unwashed panties.  Beware.  Use your own panties, not your Mother's not your sister's.  KAH KAH KAH.  Instead of avoiding pimples, you are going to grow some molds on your face. :p

"I..... can't ..... breathe....... plffttsss"

e.  Menses blood -  This is the most gross thing I've ever tried in my life.  Can you imagine, looking at mirror and your face is smothered with your menses blood.  Don't ever dream that Edward Cullen would come at you and telling that you are his personal brand of heroine straight at your face.  How romantic!

"Eh he he he he....."

I stopped experimenting my face when one of my friends told me that it's all about hormones.  Once you're married, you're going to be OK, everything will be alright.  She claimed that many women experience this in life.

Hell yeah she's right.  When I reached 21, my pimples subsided.  Thanks to my friend's advice.  I am now happy with myself because the key to a healthy looking and glowing skin is drinking plenty of water, avoiding too much fried food and every girl needs a concealer inside their make up bag.

THE DECLINING IN JUNK FOOD PACKAGING QUALITY

When I was babysitting for Gabby, hubby sent a few packets of 'keropok' (snacks) for us. I have never tasted this 'CRISTA' D-Jack brand before. It looks intimidating because it comes in Crab flavour. I can see how 'cheap' the packaging is, so contrasts with my taste. I'm the type who loves Pringles, Twisties, Mamee - mostly the famous brands. I'm very impressed with CRISTA size.

Took a scissor and snapped the upper part of the plastic. Poooossshhhhh.... the air expelled.

Tried to reach and sample the 'keropok'. OMG. Is this all the portion I'm gonna have??? See how little the quantity of the keropok, it makes me sick. Despite the sad view of the packaging, hmmmm, taste wise? Crispy and sweet. Price wise? Nope.

MAGGI 'RENDAM' 1MALAYSIA STYLE

I'd like to wish all Malaysians, SELAMAT HARI MALAYSIA!!

On the 6th day of Hari Raya. People are still on a long, 2 weeks holiday. I can sniff the incoming 'tsunami' next week. I hate being alone in the office especially during this time. Whenever I am on leave there will be, at least someone sitting at my place. Now? I have to sit at two places or sometimes answering 3-4 lines at one time. So sickening.

I would like to get your attention that out of 30 people in our unit, less than 10 people are working within these 2 weeks. I highly hope that our Ministers can look into this matter. It is OK during Ramadhan, people go back as early as 4:00 p.m. as long as they start working before 8 a.m. and skip the lunch break. I suggest that JPA should hire more qualified staff from other cultural or racial background. OK?

This is my breakfast. I didn't have time for breakkie at home since I woke up late, at 7:00 a.m. How did I cook it? Microwave? Nayy... I did it old school way. Maggi 'Rendam' (soaked in hot water) Malaysian's Boarding School style. KAH KAH KAH!

MAGGI MEE, FAST TO COOK, GOOD TO EAT! - Just like the 90's commercial ads. Soak for 20 minutes using hot boiling water. Tear the flavour powder sachet, I prefer Curry, excuse me and cover the noodles. Voila!!

MAGGI MEE, 1MALAYSIA STYLE.

Me liiikeyyy!! *clap clap*

KIMORA, I AGREE WITH YOU. BABYSITTING IN THE OFFICE IS REALLY FUN

Yesterday.

FIL had to send MIL for medical check up and then MIL had to look after hubby's grandma who is not feeling well. I didn't want to bother her. Since there is no qualified nanny at home except our 9 cats & 2 dogs, I tagged Gabby along to my office. Most of my colleagues and bosses are still on leave so it would be easy for me to take care of her.

Ok. It's time for a serious job. No talking. I asked her to sit at my assistant's desk. Gabby was so happy and felt so lucky because this PC has internet connection. Time for Facebook people! My girl is obviously getting slimmer in this picture eh! Oh yes, updating her height, she has now reaching 5 feet! * I hope that she can exceed 5"8 once she stopped growing one day!* ~~ dreaming ~~

I made her to promise that if she completed all of her home works, I will let her go online. Yes, she did. During lunch time, Papa sent us over some tapau (packed) rice with fried chicken. Yummy. What else did we get? Cans of Soy Bean drinks, keropok (snacks) etc. This is one of the reasons why we love Papa so much. He's so afraid that his two Queens would go hungry, he rather walked to the nearby food stall and packed for us. Thanks Papa!

It's 5:00 p.m. people.!! Quickly picked up her books, pencils, eraser etc. Grab grab! Gonna have early dinner with Mama, Aunt Mel and cousin Easter. Next destination? Kenyalang Park market. Gabby was complaining hungry since 3 p.m. eventhough after a super heavy lunch and snacks, OK?

HOW LONG DO YOU SLEEP EVERYDAY?

Sleepy?

Lately, I don't look at sleeping as something that is essential in life. Why do I say so? My sleeping pattern is very weird. No matter what time I will go to sleep the duration has to be like within three to four hours. Yikes.

When I go to sleep at 10 p.m., I will wake up at 3 a.m., go to the washroom and then guess what? Checking my Facebook because my eyes are already widely awakened. :p . Then I will go sleepy again and fall asleep. When I re-open my eyes again the time is already 7:00 a.m. I am so used to it and yet, I still can focus at my work and still energetically doing my daily chores.

Why was that? Some people say that sleeping for less than 8 hours is ain't good. I agree with that. But for me there are a whole lot more things to do better than sleeping like reading, baking, internet surfing, just to list down a few. LoL. Or maybe I'm too oriented and committed with other things out there. Forget to mention, I rarely take afternoon power nap! Hahaha. Very rare.

OK. It's time to sleep. Gotta wake up early tomorrow. My PIL can't babysit Gabby so I have to take her to my office. Please pray that she will behave. *cross fingers*

Till then, take care and nite nite.

HAPPY EID MUBARAK MALAYSIANS!

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI, MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN I wish to all my Muslim readers and friends.

Going anywhere this season? Visiting? Vacationing? Or embracing this hot weather at home? I don't go anywhere, no visiting or either following my Mom going back, again to Lundu. Went out yesterday to find some felt cloth for my future craft project but no to avail because Kamdar and other shops were closed! STupid.. It's Hari Raya mana ada kedai bukak nok?

With frustration of course I need something to console my soul. Excuse me, my stomach. Haha. So there we went to this old kopitiam, my late Daddy's favourite Nasi Kari.

It is located just opposite Sunny Hill School..... hubby's school last time, :p OH yes, Sunny Hill also famous for its Ice Cream. Believe it or not, I've never tasted or even tested the SH Ice Cream. Hubby promised me next time. Yes!

OK. We have arrived here in the heart of 3rd mile and the cafe's name is NAM KWONG.

Waited patiently for the rice to arrive. They served the home made chilli sauce. Very fragrant. Normally Chicken rice will be served with condiments like chilli sauce, dark soy sauce and a bowl of soup. This one? They only serve the chilli sauce itself.

The grand entree. Hail to the Queen! Uhummmm! Look at that. How tantalizing it is parading it's boneless chicken meat and the curry gravy, I tell you it isn't like the ordinary curry used out there. According to Dad, they used what they call, 'Foochow's Curry' and it is not easy to find the curry powder. Love the rice so much (I think they should make the portion bigger, lol) it topped with chicken meat, Char Sio and roasted meat. Felt like asking for another plate but no husband in this world would want to be embarrassed by his own wife. Yikes!

Oh yes, it is sold for RM4.50 per plate. Always give this platter 5 stars!

WHAT CAN WE SELL DURING PARISH SALES - IDEAS ANYONE?

There will be a Parish Sales held on 3rd October next month. We have decided to join the fellow parishioners and become instant entrepreneurs on that day! $$$$$$$ - for God. *wink*

St. Thomas Cathedral's Parish Sales - Pic courtesy of Ashley

I had on and off conversations via the phone yesterday with my sis. We were so excitedly listing down the stuff that we think that attractive, interesting and most importantly - can sell. Let us see;

  • fried beehoon
  • fried kueh tiaw
  • fried mee +__+
  • salad chicken rice
  • ice cream
  • kacang rebus (steamed peanuts)
  • makeups from AVON - yes, there will be a mini counter!
  • packed candies
  • plants (in plastic bag not potted ones)
  • mineral water
  • can drinks
  • cupcakes

.... and the list goes on!

Nah, aren't we very dreamers ambitious?

You tell.

p/s: My Mom's group will be selling Kolok Mee *faint* and Fried Bishop Nose. No, not that nose but it is a part of chicken's body. Haha!! Me likeeeyyy!!

RM4.00 HAIRCUT - CHEAP PIXIE LOOK

Yesterday the weather was quite cold which was ideal for us to go out. My hair is growing longer and thicker so it gives me a very hard times whenever I'm sweating. The rashes will make me jump like a monkey, trying my best to reach my back and scratch them till bleed! Haha. No. Not to that extent. Hey, true what? I can't stand the rashes yet my hair can't grow longer and longer because they tend to fall easily.

Hubby always goes to this particular 'salun cap ayam' (cheap saloon) hahaha! at BDC. Just opposite the Satria Court BDC - the apartment. Don't underestimate this place. It might be small but it always packed with people! We have to sit outside and wait for our turn. During normal day, I mean, out of fasting month, we normally will grab a chair at the next door 'warung' and have Teh Tarik Peng.

We were so lucky yesterday because we arrived earlier and there were about 4-5 customers awaiting outside. I dashed in and instructed the 'taukey neo' to cut my hair, 'shoulder length layered'. See the results.

Cute ain't it? Say cute lah.. hahaha... I feel lighter, fresher and younger +_____+. The best part was, I was charged for only RM4.00. This morning, I received my first compliment from the waitress at our favorite breakfast spot. Love my new cut hair, smell fresh like newly mowed grass, hahaha!!

THE FIERCE, VICIOUS & AGGRESIVE MLM PEOPLE!

MLM. Stands for Multi Level Marketing.

MLM is a term that describes a marketing structure used by some companies as part of their overall marketing strategy. The structure is designed to create a marketing and sales force by compensating promoters of company products not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of other promoters they introduce to the company, creating a downline of distributors and a hierarchy of multiple levels of compensation. - taken from Wikipedia

I've been accidentally joining few MLM businesses. Accidentally because I was forced too. But there are some MLM businesses that I joined, with my willing. Yes, because I love their ways of approach. Not only approaching the customers but the new members! Some of the 'good' MLMs are like A***, D** & P*** just to name a few.

Recently, Mr. Kingkong was introduced to join this MLM. I don't want to reveal it but if you still stubbornly thinking and anticipating about it, come, just YM or FB me. Haha. Will tell you the name of the company.

1st, we welcome them to home. We were so excitedly briefed and were promised with this and that. Was analyzed thru our dreams to own a dream house, big car, overseas vacations etc. Then, we were introduced to the products and had the chance to sample them and with some demonstrations. Cool. Before they left our house, we were equipped with some motivational books and CDs to read and listen. Super cool.

WHOAAAA!!!!! - excited new MLM members

I remember one of our friends, L went to our house few years back, promoting the E**** water filter. As he was our guest, we served him with hot Milo and some titbits because he seemed so exhausted after the vigorous explaination on the water consumption and pollution. Very dedicated marketing guy. Do you know what was his reaction? He said, "THANK YOU UNCLE, AUNTY. I ONLY DRINK THIS WATER, ONLY FROM THIS FILTER". Celaka!! This was so funny that I couldn't hold it anymore and burst into my biggest laughter!! He can come to that most extreme level with his so called 'quote'. Then my FIL sarcastically asked him, "SO, TELL ME BOY. WHEN YOU MEET YOUR CLIENT AT KOPITIAM, WHAT DRINK DO YOU ORDER THEN?". He seemed so not comfortable with my FIL's question so he said, "NOPE. I JUST BRING THIS BOTTLE CONTAINING FILTERED DRINKING WATER, FILTERED BY THIS WATER FILTER." I tell you, you should have seen his proud face when he said that. I then went on laughing more and more, I am sorry. Very, very sorry. *am laughing while typing this*. So funny when I rethink about it.

Well, back to my story. Since the first visit, we were drowned by phone calls, everyday asking whether we are free during the weekends. If we tell them that we can't, they will ask us to attend the discussion-lah, meeting-lah, beauty clinic-lah.. and the list goes on! All happens during weekdays, at 8:00 p.m. onwards. One thing I realize about this MLM, all the top notches are Engineers, Businessmen, etc. None of them were Durian seller, housewives, factory worker or what more to say, a civil servant like me.

EEEEEEERRRRGGGHHH!! - Fed up faces

Please understand us. We arrive at home only after 6:15 p.m. The moment I take off my shoes, I took a cup of tea and check whether the food is enough for dinner. If not, then I have to roll up my sleeve and start to cook. The moment I finish with the dinner and dishwashing it is already 8:30 p.m. Then I will go and take my bath and then checking Gabby's schoolwork. TV? I rarely watch TV only during weekends. Only after Gabby goes to sleep then I will steal the time to check emails or reading some craps from magazines before going to sleep. Enough with the sour face welcomed me coming back late from office in the past, I don't want any more domestic feud at home. I wanna move out from the house one day (God's willing +), without hurting anyone's feelings.

I'm sorry. I just don't like being forced and pushed. Just give us some space to adjust ourselves first then we can adjust people out there. To the successful MLM members out there, I wish you the best!!

MERDEKA IN LUNDU!

Went back to Lundu yesterday to transport over the old bathroom and toilet doors from the old house. Yes, we are going to recycle all the planks, doors, staircase for our 'retreat' house in Lundu. That is one of Daddy's dreams. Soon Daddy, you will see the house built beautifully by uncle. My Dad was actually from Saratok but he loved Lundu very much, I know why. He met Mom here, for the first time ♥ ♥ ♥

My Mom is the one from Lundu, precisely at Kampung Klaoh. Just a minute away from the famous ferry, then the coarsely made bridge. *giggle*.

The weather was so bright yesterday. Damn hot! The journey from Kota Samarahan was like one and half hour because we drove slowly. Needless to tell you that I had a packet of Yeo's Winter Melon drink, a bottle of soda, bottles of Mineral water. I can't stand the heat that is why I gulped the drinks just like a fat camel. By the way, have you ever seen a fat camel before? I don't think so. Haha.

When we arrived, I only sat in my aunty's house for a while. It was super warm inside and I was not comfortable to sit on the floor. Yes, blame it on my size. I felt suffocated. Therefore, I joined my hubby and brother Ted sitting at the storehouse.

Brother Ted, sitting on my cousin's bike. You can see hubby's leg hahaha, my nephew and cousin in the picture.

Baby Ashlyn, my cute little niece. I felt sorry for seeing her tried to follow her elder cousins and being rejected because she is still small.

... and Gabby, she still looks OK today, even after long hours playing under the sun!

So what did you guys do yesterday? Tell me!!
