2009 BLOG'S WRAP-UP

Have been thinking to do this wrap-up when the idea came whilst having my morning shower. - Kids, that's why morning shower is very good to enhance your brain so it will shower you back with ideas. Haha. Sempat pulak aku ber-iklan kat sini.

People, I've gone thru lots of upside downs and mixed ups in 2009. We gained a lots in wealth, health and weights. In return, we lost lots too. 2009 really taught me how be more strong and firm in my relationships - marriage, family and friends.

My marriage will celebrate its first 1-0, yes, the 10th anniversary next February. I still can recall the day I signed the marital certificate. I was only 22 at that time and just completed my diploma. Hubby taught me a lot about life, love, patience which had changed me a lot in many ways. He also faced challenges and barricades this year when he opted to resign and set up his own company. With Jesus helps and moral supports from us, as a family his career is ascending now. Hence, I am always thankful to God that He sent me this angel in the form of a man whom later I married and like other couples we have gone thru arguments, hugs, laughters and tears together but it has never changed my feeling, not an inch towards him. Those make we love each other more and more everyday. Thank you Lord Jesus for your miracles.

She was born thru C-Sect on Monday morning and was named, Gabriella Conchita; (A leader with God strength). Yes. It still feels like given birth to her yesterday and yes, she has reached her puberty early too that was 2 weeks ago. How time flies. She's a tween now.

Everyone, especially this blog readers know that my beloved best friend and father, left us to be with Lord Jesus 2 months ago. God knows how he left us in agony and despair, it almost driven me crazy to lock myself inside the bedroom and thinking about him around the clock. It was hubby who gave me strength and words of consolations and convinces. Mom is one strong lady. She is now coping back with life, with us. I'm glad to see her happy surrounded by us. My sis, Cynthia has moved back with Mak, now doing her part time job setting her own small food business, my brother Rodriguez meanwhile is located in St. Luke's church Sri Aman now. My youngest bro, Thadeus will be sitting for SPM next year. Dad, you have completed your race actually. Don't u worry up there, just let your chubby girl does her work down here.

Some new faces came and left the office. I found true friendships finally. I love to point this - Office political scene is dirtier and crueler. You don't even believe that someone can back stab you anytime. People, make friends with all level of peers. You might realize one day and appreciate my advise. Trust me. Don't ever feel degradation should you mingle with office tea lady or cleaner of your office or even junior clerks. Make no barricades in friendship. These people will give a very deep positive impacts in your life. Guys, thanks for the friendships that we build together and may God bless your honesty in return. Amen.

My work life? Well, we're still celebrating, I guess so. FYI, one circular regarding our grade has been out out yesterday. Yay! Finally, our grade was revised and upgraded. Any idea to celebrate this, my dear Secretary friends? We will OK, we will. :p

Next year 2010 will give me challenges - new job designation, new project with hubby, more responsibilities and many more to come. To stay strong and believe in myself - that's my resolution for 2010. I believe in myself from now on and I will.

I wish you guys a very prosperous new year and may God shower you all with love, health and wealth abundantly. Goodbye 2009, goodbye sad stories. Hello 2010 and hello challenges! Can't wait to wake up and rock the stage, the stage of life again!!

2009 IS ALMOST REACHING ITS CLIMAX!

Barr and Jazz.

Pheww! I'm back to the reality world. Havoc and sweats. Readers, I have cleaned my room and my room smells surely damn good now. Oh yes, I cooked Black Pepper Pork last night too. Sorry no picture, was too hungry and when I realized that I haven't snapped it, the bowl was gone. Haha. Hey, see that wedding picture? Congrats to our besties, Barr @ Austin and Jacinta @ Jazz, sorry guys I didn't attend the ceremony but luckily hubby managed to rush and be with you guys. I was babysitting Gabby, Easter, Sam and Clint, wowww! Ain't I a Super Big Momma? Haha.

Baby Ashlyn and Mom in the kitchen, preparing the ingredients.

News update. Sis is doing good with her 'Nasi Campur', really envy her! Wish her the best and may she achieve her dream!! Caiyok caiyok! She's been dreaming of doing this years ago so she's very serious doing it. You can do it girl.

Meet the Campbells.

Well, Christmas was over and the new year is coming in 2 days time. I received Christmas card from Puteri 2 days ago, wallaaahhh! Thanks Puteri! Gabby put it on the Christmas tree and it looks good, thanks for helping, love.

Oh yes, my Christmas gift. The picture itself tells you the story. The story of the happiness of a woman who spends hours in front of the mirror struggling with her big curly hair. Sekarang tidak lagi! No mas! Haha. Thanks love. You always surprise me *wink* and full of surprises too.

HELP ME! I'M OUTTA THIS!

Hate to say this. I've gone too far these few days. I know it's holiday. When I give excuses, more reasons coming to me. I've stuck to this laptop since 24th December. I will let it go only when I am dining, bathing or watching HBO. What a lazy bum!! I wanna go out of this room or this house but Mr. Hubby will give excuses i.e. the frequent we go out the more $$$$ we'll spend. Yup. True. We spent a lot today. And so yesterday. And so few days - the worst was on Christmas Day. Went out to Parkson and then followed by a visit to Boulevard Mall from 3 p.m. till midnite - 9 hours????

Have to get up now, have to.... my room is smelly, ohh what more to say about the clusters. I have to move my a** and clean my room! Just a room you say??? My room is more than a room.

Eh, I will blog about our Christmas gifts this year but please excuse me... I have to do some cleaning up there. Bye bye love!

TIME TO DETOX PEOPLE!

OK people. Enough eating. Haha. Ya, ya.. I know it's festive season - enough of sweet red wine, lovely buttery 'Kek Lapis', sweet candies, scrumptious crunchy meat BBQ, crazy liquor etc etc - this entry comes to your laptop/pc screen as a reminder to do detox! Ya, kau dengar tak aku jerit detox??? Bahahaha!

We had these on last Wednesday, didn't we realize that we had zero meat/protein which is, good. *lame* OK. Look at this pic. Some boiled Okra or Lady Fingers and we also have brinjals or aubergine or eggplant. How many names does this veggie have in the world. *sigh.

Sambal belacan (terasi) or shrimp paste. My MIL made these but to tell the truth it wasn't to spicy for Miss Coki. Miss Coki prefers more chillies. *bomb* - This belacan was supposed to go with the boiled veggies.

Wait! You need something between sweet and little sourish to go with that belacan so we had Honey Mango! Sedap gila! There was one 'abang' came to our office and sold them for RM5 per kg. Isn't that super cheap? I bought 2kgs - one packet given to Mak.

Labu kuning. We did it purely like what we always have back in the longhouse. Do not, I repeat do not peel of the labu kuning skin. Just cube them and boil them with pounded ikan bilis (dried anchovies), shallots, garlic and a bit of Belacan. Boil until they tender. That's why this particular dish is healthy, we didn't fry the ingredients but boil all of them in one pot.

Buah dabai. Since it is still Dabai's season, this fruit is a staple food on most of dinner tables in Sarawak. Best eaten with salt or sweet soy sauce. Perggghhh! This Dabai thing is very easy to prepare. Just soak them in hot water for a few minutes till soft.

Damn.

I love food blogging. Haha.

LETS EAT! - HAPPY TIME CAFE, 17th MILE, SIBURAN BAZAAR

Holler!

OK. This time I'll bring you guys for 'Jalan Jalan Cari Makan' at HAPPY TIME CAFE, 17th Mile, Siburan Bazaar. Wow, jauhnya!! If you could find the new Everrise then this cafe is actually located at the corner of that row, just opposite the Siburan's Police Station. Once you enter this place, please look for a stall, selling 'mixed rice' or Nasi Campur as what we normally call it. The stall operates after 4:00 p.m. daily and serving home cooked dishes. Please bear in mind, it is non-halal.

The reason why I am blogging about this because this stall belongs to my younger sis, Cynthia. Go go sis, caiyok caiyok! She's doing this as her part-time job. So, on Tuesday's night we went there for the food review and debut.

That's Ted, my brother. Nope, he's not the cook, he's just helping Cynthia with serving and washing dishes. Rajin nian adik bujangku nan sorang ini... Haha. We had Chicken Curry, Meat with Lobak Masin, Telur Masin (salted egg), longbeans, Ayam Kicap (Chicken in Soy Sauce) and many, many more.

Gabby's plate. Yes, she was hungry and another yes, this is her second helping. Apart from my sis' stall, there serve Kolok Mee, Nasi Ayam (Chicken Rice), Laksa, Fried Noodles/Beehoon/Kuey Tiaw and soon, one Halal stall will be joining too. Only my sis who starts her business late in the afternoon.

Pay her a visit and tell her that her big sister is promoting her stall and should you need discount, it's up to your creativity in thinking. Haha. Don't worry, she's a nice lady, and pretty too. *ceh, up kan adik sendiri*. Bahaha....

Try today!

p/s: Oh ya, this is her Facebook. Do click should you wanna see how she looks like. Definitely not as big size cute as me!

MY BEAUTIFUL DREAM - PRAISE THE LORD, I MET HIM FINALLY

I am dizzy still. My head feels so heavy. I still remember my dream, the dream that woke me up in tears at 5:15 a.m. this morning.

I met daddy. But this time, it was so real. His face was bright as bright as a moon and his eyes were shiny and sparkly. The place was at hospital. I remember that I took Mom to hospital but without any health reason. When we arrived, I heard daddy's voice chuckling and he was chit chatting with our family friends. He was so healthy and jolly.

Suddenly, his conversations stopped and he looked at my face. He took my left hand and held it firmly. His hand, so chill and cold as if he's just came out of a big freezer.

"Mang (my nickname at home) is getting bigger, must go for diet OK?", he said.

He smiled at me and I smiled back at him. Beautiful.

"Remember, don't ever, ever leave your mother. Promise me. "
"I promise Daddy. *sad* But please don't leave me, please don't", I begged him.

He's gone in second. I woke up in tears. I could feel my left hand was cold and frozen. I touch my right cheek. Yes. Confirmed. My left hand was still freezing. I prayed for his soul in deep tears and sobbing loudly, till my hubby woke up. He knows my grieving, the pain that I hold since Daddy left us.

The dream was a miracle to me.

First, for the first time after 2 months, I dreamed about Daddy. It was almost real. I could see his face clearly, I could hear his manly voice too.

Secondly, he held my hand and his hand was freezing cold. Please take note, our air-cond is still malfunctioning and we depend on ceiling fan and fresh air (we open the bedroom windows while sleeping). It was obvious and confirmed by hubby that my left hand was freezing. My right hand was normal with body temperature. How magical it was, wasn't it? I kiss that hand and I didn't forget to pray.

Thank God. Alleluia praise to Him. I met my Daddy in my dream. He's not only a father to me but he's also my best friend. Rest in peace Daddy dearest. Don't worry, I'll hold my words. I will take care of Mommy and the rest.

I NEED HOLIDAY - DON'T FEEL LIKE WORKING

Hey y'all! *cry* I wanna be at home now. Checking the weather out there, it's brightly shining and oh yes, there are some vacant at the parking space. Pak Engku is coming tomorrow to visit us, after 2 months OMG really miss him. +_+ Yay!!

Yesterday was a long torture. Workloads killing us. Luckily Dr. JoJo came and saved our day. He brought along;

RAMBUTANS!!

The rambutan (pronounced /ræmˈbuːtən/, Nephelium lappaceum) is a medium-sized tropical tree in the family Sapindaceae, and the fruit of this tree. It is native to Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, although its precise natural distribution is unknown. It is closely related to several other edible tropical fruits including the Lychee, Longan, and Mamoncillo. It is believed to be native to the Malay Archipelago.[1]. Rambutan in Indonesian, Filipino and Malay literally means hairy caused by the 'hair' that covers this fruit. In Thailand the fruit is known as ngoh (เงาะ). In Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, it is known as mamón chino. There is a second species regularly for sale at Malay markets which is known as "wild" rambutan. It is a little smaller than the usual red variety and is colored yellow. The outer skin is peeled exposing the fleshy fruit inside which is then eaten. It is sweet, sour and slightly grape like to the taste.

Talking about rambutan, so sayang our rambutans back at old house in Kota Samarahan. My BIL had chopped down the two trees because by hook or by crook they will be chopped down soon. FYI, my parents' old house will be demolished as the place has been taken by the developers. Then, they were given a double-storey terrace house as a compensation, which is now has been occupied for 2 months. *Luckily my late father had spent only 3 nights there. :(* Our rambutans are bigger and juicier than these. You will say that I'm bluffing when I describe the flesh, OMG, the flesh is very thick and the seed is tiny and small.

Hence, what can be more perfect than having sweet rambutans while reading one of your favourite blogs??

Right Farah?? *LoL*

Happy working readers. Happy tortured too. ;)

R.I.P to Brittany Murphy. I love her since the movie 'Clueless'. She used to be so chubby and I know some of you out there might agree that Ashley Tisdale @ Sharpay Evans of High School Musical resembles her. The industry had lost another shining star... :(

FLYMAS.MOBI - AS EASY AS 1, 2, 3

As a Personal Secretary, I depend on the internet to check the flight schedule for Mr. Boss just to ensure the smoothness before taking the next step, calling the appointed agent and doing the booking. It is very convenient if compared to the old method i.e. calling agents directly and then you go yada yada on the line for a few minutes which is quite costly for me. Don't you agree with me? Oh yes, by the way, I haven't covered about time consuming yet, alas! Such a time waster!!

What would you do when you're disconnected while you're surfing for the online schedule in rush? How would you react??

Don't worry, a superhero will come and save your day in the form of; a handphone. A HANDPHONE?????? Don't panic, don't worry, introducing the first and foremost,

TADAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being offline or disconnected is a damn pain in your a** but now, (for an internet junkie like me, +_+) you can book your flights and check all necessary details from your palm (NOT READING YOUR PALM LINES) but from your mobile phone! Yes, you heard that. Isn't that the coolest thing in the world that you can do anywhere at anytime???

By using your mobile phone you can check all the necessary things you should know inside the flymas.mobi website. Oh, a bonus for you, this site is available in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Thumbs up!

Your handphone screen might be small but you will be surprised with what it will display to you because this particular website contains all the useful information like your booking, check in time, flight status, timetable, contacts, baggage tracers and not forgetting, special deals & offers for a loyal MAS client like you. *wink*

Now, let us make thing more exciting, how about this? When you book via flymas.mobi, you stand a chance to win yourself;

iPhone 3G!! But this is valid for return ticket on First and Business class ONLY.

1ST MENSES NOSTALGIA - HAHAHA!

Yeah, I remember still.... my first menses. Ahaks. My Mom didn't guide me on how to wear the pads. I swear I learnt it from my classmates, circa 1990, I was in Primary 6 then. +_+. The famous brand was Kotex. Very limited choices at that time. We used to talk about ladies pad and this matter was normally brought up by one of my classmates, Sharifah who had a couple of elder sisters that time. She would describe us how did her sisters putting that pad and that thing was made of some kind of cloth, cotton like. Haha.

Pic: Haha. Kotex. Very liable brand.

Talking about menses and PMS and such, guys should know us. I conclude all that at in a simpler way. PMS = food craving and being ferocious. Oh yes, must have chocolates in stock. Good enuff. During menses, = no mood at all. :p Simple. Avoid cold drinks and washing hair at night as Mom always said but for me it was just a taboo. During PMS my appetite also in a good state and am always craving for ridiculous fattening edible stuff. Well, what to do.

So far I don't have problem like acute cramps or headache. And I wish that my daughter, Gabby will be as strong as her Mommy. She will.

Oh yes. This entry is dedicated to my daughter, who has reached her puberty today. Officially at 1:00 p.m. Yay!!! Aku dah ada anak dara dah. (",)

MERGING MY BLOGS - PLUS SOME PRICE REVIEWS FOR SKINCARE UNDER RM50.00

Merging blogs? Wow, sounds like the bank's merging in the early 2000. Super lazy? Nay! It's hard to find time lately to blog, but if it is God willing, these two hands will continue to blog more and more for my loyal readers. *Oh-what-a-statement*.

Divasss!

I have merged my beauty blog with this blog. Don't ask me why, this blog readers are more in quantity and furthermore, this blog is more active compared to it. So don't hesitate to ask me should you need guide or anything-lah that you need to know.

I have received many comments via YM, Forum Cari and the blog itself regarding M.A.C product review I made in July. I understand that not all my readers are working ladies like me myself. We have some students and housewives who can't afford it so don't worry ladies! We still respect you guys. Ms. Coki will have some substitutes for you that cost below RM50.00. Are you readddyyyyyyyyyy????

"Uols, nak cantik tapi bajet ciput? Meh sini, biar mak ajarkan.."

First of all, the make up cleanser oil.

M.A.C Cleanse Off Oil is RM 95.00
ZA Deep Cleansing Oil is around RM 24 ++.

M.A.C Studio Moisture Fix Lotion Hydratante Studio RM 118.00, meanwhile Olay Total Effects was bought for RM 39.00!! What a bargain! Get the lowest price at Guardian now as they are having Year End Sale. Normal price is RM 48++. This product rocks.

Makeup prime is an essential before applying foundation. It helps makeup to stay longer too. I don't wear foundation lately not even after changing to the mousse type. So I opt for the-forever-cheap Fair & Lovely Multi Vitamin face lotion. Cheap but very effective! I managed to 'bleach' my face in 2 weeks. M.A.C Prep N' Prime is sold at RM 90.00 but Fair & Lovely? Less than RM9.00!!

For that face fixing water spray, I love both of M.A.C and ZA but talking about budgetwise, M.A.C is RM62.00 and ZA?? RM 24.90. Same function but has big gap in price. Pheww!

So ladies, what do you think? Expensive skin care doesn't guarantee you with flawless skin. The reason why did I change my skincare range just because I received complaints from my colleagues telling me that I was getting tanner and darker. *sigh* What more to say to my pimples?

We all love and dying to have fair and flawless skin. I mean who doesn't? But I don't want my skin to be as pale as the Cullens. Haha!! To tell the truth, Fair & Lovely has actually saved my life, I mean, my skin. I've got my normal complexion back.

LUCKY LUCKY DECEMBER FOR MISS COKI

The counter. Cantik tak? Cakaplah cantik, penat I edit gambar taw.

Went to 175 Degrees Cafe at Padungan on Monday to collect my gift - in a form of Gingerbread cookies! Yay!! Thanks to Irene and Pastry Chef, Josh for the verry shweet gift. Oh yes, I won the "Win a Pair of Gingerbread Men" Contest at Irene's blog.

Mr. & Mrs. Gingerbread

Since it's already nearly 6:00 p.m., I took the opportunity to have my early dinner there. Lately, I seem to feel bored with rice. I always go for noodles and buns. Wait. I was craving for beef burgers.

My order. Beef Burger. It comes with a dollop of chilli sauce, salad and fries. Oh, did I tell you the beef patty is homemade and moisty?? Bukan Ramly Burger hoccay? Love it!

I'm a very, very coffee person. Never have enough of it, so I ordered Iced Mocha Latte. Very 'gao' and not too sweet. I loooooiike!

Overall, the price is reasonable, the premise is clean, the service is good. What more can I say? There are lots of reviews about this place. I didn't try the fish spa, as you know I just came back from the office and had been in my pump shoes for more than 8 hours. I'm afraid all the fish will get choked with my feet smell. Haha.

p/s: Oh yes, am now awaiting gift from Charlene from Perth, Australia. I won one of the perfume sets last month. Eeeeiiiiiii! Best nyaaaa! Actually still awaiting for them to reach my house. Can't wait, people!!
